Dear Ed
Hope you are safely back home.  I thought I would get you the key points of impact:
Global Research Study ‘peace of mind on the move’
Commissioned by REA, US based  global HR consultancy
34 participants across the globe, 4 continents and 4 generations
Key Outcomes:
  1. Big Data needs Thick Data for informed user-conscious global mobility decision-making and policy-shaping
  2.  ‘what is measurable is not always what is valuable’ – (Wang, 2013, 2016)
  3. Overarching themes emerged:  the importance of 3 key workforce trends
    – health and well-being
    – resilience
    – human connection
4. Human connection outcome missing from Big Data and demonstrates the value of combining approaches for valuable insights that reflect the well-being needs of mobile professionals and families on the move
5. The ‘psychological contract’ needs of mobile professionals are an important part of the mobility equation.  In the case of dual-career families there is a positive effect when those needs are perceived as being met.  This leads to an overall sense of inclusion (DEI&B) and feeling valued.  In the event of a perceived breach, the result is feelings of alienation and exclusion.
Impact – Risk:  Talent  retention/early repatriation/ failed assignment
6.  The inclusion of life and career transition coaching support mitigated any potential psychological contract breaches.  The value of human connection and embedding health and well-being front and centre of a company’s mobility value proposition could be a game-changer.
7.  VUCA:  we are experiencing geo-political and socioeconomic uncertainty with increasing frequency and this is destabilising to mobile professionals.
7.   As we move from Industry 4.0 to Industry 50 (AI) health and well-being needs of the workforce will be the top priority and focus for the sustainable and balanced  future of work.

Dear Ed,

Please allow me to introduce you to my long-standing friend and former colleague, Heather De Cruz Cornaire. Heather would be an outstanding addition and speaker at your April 2024 event in London and possibly Paris.

Heather, it is my pleasure to introduce Ed Cohen, Publisher, and Host of Global Business News, a well-respected and global series of events, radio talk shows and e-zines. Ed is passionate about hosting thought-provoking and compelling topics and speakers. He will be hosting a mid-April event in Paris and London. In my view, you would enrich Ed’s lineup of speakers and topics.

Ed, I have had the great pleasure of knowing Heather for 14 years – she has a proven track record for over 2 decades in global talent mobility and is a global HR consultant, based in London, UK.  She is also a Certified Principal Business Psychologist and a Coaching Psychologist that has lived and worked for global MNCs in the UK, Europe, and Asia. Heather recently conducted a global research study called ‘Peace of Mind on the Move’ and was shortlisted for 2 awards at the Association for Business Psychology (UK):

Excellence in Health & Wellbeing

Excellence in Coaching

She won runner-up in Excellence in Coaching!

Heather’s research is a first in global talent mobility as it combines the benefits of both ‘Big’ and ‘Thick’ Data approaches. Her starting point is taken from Wang (2016) ‘what is measurable, isn’t the same as what is valuable’. She designed a qualitative study into the state of global mobility post-pandemic and the impact of key workforce trends across 4 continents (The Americas, Europe, Asia/Asia-Pacific, UAE) and 4 generations (Boomers, Gen X,Y,Z). Her study adds value by showing why ‘Big’ data needs ‘Thick’ data. It argues for a human-centered Mobility Value Proposition to be embedded in organizations where digitalization/AI processes drive efficiency and cost containment. Flexible and inclusive HR policy along with DEI&B initiatives can bring ‘peace of mind on the move’ to mobile professionals and their families to build a workforce fit for Industry 50.

Heather will gladly share her research and executive white paper should you be interested.

Heather also has a longstanding relationship with Permits Foundation. She has been a professional REA Permits Ambassador for over a decade and a personal advocate in her own work sharing their mission and vision. Additionally, she has channeled clients to complete Permits’ last 2 surveys and developed thought leadership initiatives within REA. Permits will be marketing her research shortly via an interview, and a section of her own research questionnaire was dedicated to the body of evidence Permits’ has developed over the last 2 decades.

Enjoy meeting!

Best regards,

Susan
