Colonial Merida surprised me, despite the fact I was reading about and looking forward to visit this city for several years: Chagall exhibition on the central Plaza, and remnants of the rich architecture and art life on the Centro streets, too humid climate (for me), different type of tasty food.
I realized how different in the many aspects is culture and people of the Yucatan peninsula from the other regions of this big country.
