Colonial Merida surprised me, despite the fact I was reading about and looking forward to visit this city for several years: Chagall exhibition on the central Plaza, and remnants of the rich architecture and art life on the Centro streets, too humid climate (for me), different type of tasty food.

I realized how different in the many aspects is culture and people of the Yucatan peninsula from the other regions of this big country.

Many expats from the US and Canada selecting this part of Mexico to be their new home. You can find here many constructions and developments of new living communities, hospitals, malls.
