children of Alzheimer’s: Is it coming for them?
For more than a decade, Felice Freyer and her siblings watched their mother dissolve into the miasma of dementia.

They saw forgetfulness and confusion gradually engulf her, silencing her voice, sucking away her intellect, until her death in 2021 at age 88.

Now in their 60s or getting there, the siblings think often of their mother’s fate and what it might mean for their own.
