Geert Bouwmeester was only 22 when he started his own business in 1924. An overflow was furnished as office space and the first policies were distributed by bicycle. Since then our company has grown enormously and a lot has changed. De Goudse now has about 700 employees and a turnover of more than 556 million euros. But despite this growth, we are still an independent family business and we still work from our entrepreneurial heart.

Wide range of products
De Goudse is strong in a wide range of financial products and insurance: non-life, health, income and life insurance. Thanks to our organizational structure, our management can respond quickly and decisively to developments in the various market segments. We are increasingly concentrating on insurance for entrepreneurs: the target group that fits in seamlessly with the entrepreneurial character of De Goudse. On the international market, De Goudse focuses on travel and expatriate insurance.

The De Goudse office is located in Gouda, while the De Zeeuwse Verzekeringen business unit is located in Middelburg. The Dutch operating companies – with the exception of De Zeeuwse Verzekeringen and SFS Verzekeringen – operate under the label ‘De Goudse’​.
