Your next job description for pretty much any leader position…

Define a valuable vision

Build teams to carry out that vision and empower them to succeed

Translate the vision into action and align your teams

Communicate powerfully to inspire your team to realize the vision

Clearly define what success looks like so that teams can autonomously drive results

Focus on the results that matter, like building trust, over short term financial gain.

Advocate your company values and behaviours- what’s acceptable and unacceptable

Educate and grow new leaders. Develop and reward talent.

Lead by example. Master self discipline and demonstrate ethical and responsible behaviour

Take care of the communities, industries and environments where your company operates

To attract better leaders, job descriptions need to emphasize fostering trust, developing people, and creating a positive team culture.

It’s time to move beyond task lists and focus on what drives real leadership success.

In addition to this fantastic list by Leadership Institute, I would probably emphasize the collaborative spaces leaders need to create for continuous improvement and innovation. I would also have something in there about coaching your teams.
