LARM’s Directors’ Meeting 2025 – Leading GM in LATAM by Example
Last week, I had the pleasure and honor of once again participating in LARM’s annual Directors’ Meeting, held in my lovely Santiago 🇨🇱! This event is a key moment for our organization, where we evaluate our performance, share experiences, strengthen our expertise, and reinforce the bond between our offices and countries. It is a space that truly drives us to keep evolving and leading the way in Global Mobility in our region.
However, this year was different for me. Despite all the planning and expectations, I had to cancel my trip at the last minute due to ongoing and uncertain changes in immigration policies and criteria, which could have posed unnecessary risks for me as a 🇻🇪 currently living in the 🇺🇸 – Yes, it was an unexpected unilateral challenge that required quick adaptation, teamwork, and strategic decision-making.
How did we handle it? With the team’s resilience and proactivity. No matter the obstacles, the key is always finding solutions. Thanks to the commitment and positive attitude, we swiftly adjusted dynamics and coordinated everything, allowing me to deliver my presentations and contribute—even from a distance. More than just “joining via Video Meeting,” this was an exercise in collaboration, strategy, and adaptability, like planning a “Virtual Assignment”
🔹 Key lesson: In Global Mobility, just like in life, we must embrace challenges and best recommendations, focusing on solutions (not the problem) to ensure the final goal prevails.
🔹 Major takeaway: The importance of Duty of Care and having agile, effective processes to mitigate risks.
A huge thank you to the entire LARM Group team for their support, but specially, to my friend Alejandra Garza and, of course, all the LARM Chile team for flawlessly organizing this event. We made it happen together! Even enjoyed by those like me in the distance 🎯 😎
Very happy for all my colleagues for living those unique moments together in our LARM Family 🙂 – and don’t forget, you are safe from me for now, but don’t worry, I’ll be bothering you in person soon 🙌 😉
