 2025-FDI-Report.

California has the world’s fastest growing industries including Technology, Entertainment, Agriculture/Food Production, Biotech & Healthcare, Energy source and production, Transportation, Investments/Venture Capital, Real Estate, Education, US government.

Home to top colleges and medical centers.  Excellent secondary public and private school opportunities which is attractive to parents or future parents.  Beyond the career opportunities, the Weather!!   Most common is moderate temperatures along the coastline.  Lots of Sunshine.  Beaches, mountains, deserts, and forests all within a few hours of driving.  Lifestyles are active and diverse for any age and the majority of the population thrives on being outdoors year around.

Top Employers:

United Kingdom remains California’s top source of FOE employment in 2025, supporting 130,628 jobs across 2,215 establishments.

This marks a net gain of more than 17,000 jobs from the previous year, the largest year-over-year increase among all source countries and regions.

U.K. investment is concentrated in high-wage, service-driven industries, with more than 43,000 jobs in professional and business services and 26,000 in manufacturing.

Japan continues to rank second among FOEs with 127,138 jobs and remains the state leader in FOE establishments with 3,391.

Japan added more than 14,000 jobs in 2025, but its expansion remains concentrated in traditional industries, such as manufacturing and wholesale trade, which together account for more than half of Japanese FOE employment.

Although Japan’s overall footprint is broader, the United Kingdom’s growth in service-based sectors reflects a shift in the composition of foreign investment toward higher-value and knowledge-based activities.

The above info is what has driven organizations of giant, large/small size to pack up and relocate their HQTRS to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)  over the last several years. The strong economy and cost advantages have been providing company employees …or potential employees… with the lower cost-of-living advantage and comfortable lifestyle/living that the metro Dallas provides. Housing is more affordable than other popular relocation locations.  Texas offers this:  no state income tax;  very attractive compared to other popular areas like LA, SF, or NY.
