What an incredible honor!
I’m absolutely thrilled that our paper
“Cross‐Border Knowledge Transfer in the Digital Age:
The Final Curtain Call for Long‐Term International Assignments?”
has been awarded the International HRM Scholarly Research Award at this year’s Academy of Management meeting
Huge thanks to my amazing co-authors Jana Bucher and Jürgen Deller, it’s been a fantastic collaboration, and I could not have asked for a better team to explore these critical questions with.
This research touches on a topic that could not be more relevant:
How do organizations transfer knowledge across borders in a world that is increasingly digital, flexible, and AI-driven? What happens to the traditional long-term international assignment as we embrace new models of work and collaboration?
We started working on this project years ago here at Newcastle University Business School, in fact even before AI became the buzzword it is today — and already back then, we saw the cracks in the traditional models. This award is not just recognition of our academic work, but also of the practical importance of the questions we raised, questions that GM professionals and HR leaders are facing right now.
Thank you, Center for International Human Resource Studies and HR Division – Academy of Management for recognizing our work this award and to the Journal of Management Studies for giving our work a platform. And thanks to everyone who has already engaged with this research, the conversations it sparked have been as rewarding as the writing itself.
