Good morning Ed.
Here are my thoughts on your series idea.
Kick off the series with the Costs of Replacing Good People. In that discussion, we dive into “what causes good people to leave.” There are four main causes, each to be discussed in detail in subsequent shows. These four are authoritarian leadership, not effectively communicating and implementing change, ineffective feedback and poor performance review methods, and managers/leaders being the true bottlenecks to productivity.
For these four subsequent shows, perhaps under the umbrella of “Leadership Power,” the topics would include:
Authoritarianism vs. Leadership
- Which is more effective and why
- Leadership Power: Where does it originate?
- The key elements of leadership power: trust, influence, authority
- Why authoritarianism doesn’t work in today’s workplaces
Effectively Communicating Change
- A better approach for introducing change
- Influence, not authority, foundational for implementing change
- Understanding and leveraging the buy-in continuum
Making Feedback Effective
- Why most feedback is ineffective
- Why effective feedback requires a mindset change
- How to improve the performance review process (Dr. Ken Lloyd is subject matter expert)
Why Leaders and Managers are the Bottlenecks to Productivity
- Where leaders and managers spend their time (meetings!)
- Improving 1-on-1 meetings and discussions
- Using delegation to improve productivity
Wednesday mornings are typically good for me. But I can make any day of the week work.
Over to you.
All the best,
Steven

Subject: TV talkshow idea for you and me
During March/April an original series (launch … 3-part series, maybe more) broadcast/record every 2 weeks
general theme: Losing good talent…costs big money and branding and cohesion/productivity…and more
See the chart/graphic I received today;
so i thought of you… I’ll produce the series at my expense, be moderator, will distribute/market it across my network … you are leader/focal point … but a question, invite others to dialog/expand the dialog?
You and I split 50/50 any/all revenues developed.
Brainstorm?
… or simply light “drizzle” ?
